District 51 has done it again. It has been ranked by Toastmasters International
as the NUMBER ONE DISTRICT WORLDWIDE for 1999-2000.
For it's performance in 1999-2000, the District scored 131 points, leading it's
nearest rival, District 25, by 42 points.
District Governor for 1999-2000, Maimunah Natasha, DTM announced this news after
receiving the results from International President Tim Keck, DTM.
"We are number one for two years in a row!", said the excited District Governor.
Despite not having access to email due to faulty telephone lines, Maimunah sent the
announcement via a public terminal. "I waited 27 days for this news!", said Maimunah.
"Now, I can't find sufficient words to express my gratitude and excitement. Thank you,
all officers and members of District 51. Thank you for your
unfailing support, your unending commitment, your outstanding effort,
your hardwork and your sacrifices of your time, energy and thought.
I am so blessed to have you all in the District Team."
