Bayan Baru Toastmasters Club is proud to announce that one of its members, Rickson Ong, has been conferred the award of "Darjah Dato Paduka Tuanku Jaafar" (DPTJ) by Paduka Seri Tuanku Yang Di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan Darul Khusus on the occasion of His Excellency's 78th birthday on 19 July 2000. This award carries the title of Dato'.

This joyious occassion is made sweeter as Rickson has just obtained his Ph.D. in Construction Management (Doctorate in Construction Management) from University of Clayton of The United States of America.

Dato' Dr Rickson is a very strong supporter of Bayan Baru Toastmasters Club in Penang since joining the club 3 years ago.

Dato' Dr Rickson is a businessman active in the construction industry. He is currently the Group Managing Director of PLB Engineering Bhd, a public listed company and holds many positions in other companies such as Kok Hoon Construction Sdn Bhd.
