Dear fellow Toastmasters

Good afternoon !

In less than 48 hours, our term of office for 2000/2001 will be over. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for giving me a chance to work together with you for the past 12 months. I have learnt a lot from you. Thank you.

In 2000/2001, we have recruited 2,372 new members up to June 15th, 2001. Membership turnover was 1,200 approximately. Thanks for contributing to the nett gain of 16% membership growth.

In terms of clubs, we have chartered up to end of May, 2001, 31 new clubs. In the month of June, we are expecting more clubs to be chartered. Thanks for help and working as a team.

As I will be away from June 29th, 2001 to July 8th, 2001, to Singapore, Johor Baru, Miri and Kota Kinabalu, I thought it is good to drop you a line concerning the Education and Training services we offer in the new term 2001/2002.

Our District has produced a District officer and Club Officer CD ROM. The CD ROM was received from WHQ, permission has been given by WHQ to duplicate the CD ROM for district and club officers training.

The content of the CD ROM are as follows:-

* service standards of area and division governors
* why build new clubs?
* qualities of a super team
* Organizing a speech contest
* Role and responsibilities of all Club officers from President to SAA
* why build membership?
* 5 steps to success
* why earn CTM?

We strongly believe that while we are preparing to have a good finishing for this term 2000/2001, perhaps you will be planning for a great term in 2001/2002.

We recommend that at club officers training, the CD ROM will be used.

The core content of the club officers training shall be:-

* club leadership - from President to SAA
* attracting new members to the club
* charting a new course for club success ( DCP goals )
* motivating achievement ( why earn CTM, ATM, CL,AL and DTM )
* steps to success

It is suggested that the training shall be conducted in a lively workshop session, with group work and group presentation.

Let us have a uniform club officers training in the new term.

Till then, I will write again when I return to Kuching on July 8th, 2001 evening.

All the best.

With best regards
DTM Dr John Lau
