We slipped to No.4

Dear Fellow Toastmasters

Our District has slipped to the No.4 District in the world as at 31 March 2001.

Here's the top 5 districts as at 31 March 2001:

Points - District
49.62 : D43 - Arkansas, Central Mississippi, Western Tennessee
46.83 : D1 - Southern California
43.08 : D47 - Florida, Bahamas
43.08 : D51 - Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand
39.94 : D2 - Northwest Washington

Remember Abraham Lincoln who said this after losing a Senate race: "The path was worn and slippery. My foot slipped from under me, knocking the other out of the way. But I recovered and said to myself - It's a slip and not a fall."

Indeed, this is a slip and not a fall for District 51, as the race is not over until 30 June 2001.

Believe in our dreams, with friends helping friends succeed. Let us all be united as a team, working together. Every effort will make a significant difference for our district. As mentioned last month, here are three ways each club member can make a breakthrough for District 51 to maintain our excellent tradition:

1. Ensure that your Club's April semi-annual dues are submitted to WHQ before 30 April 2001
2. Encourage CTMs and ATMs - mentor your members to help them achieve their educational goals
3. Help your club grow by at least 1 member this month, or charter a new toastmasters club in your community

Leave a legacy...make a significant breakthrough for yourself and your Club before the end of the term. Together, District 51 will definitely rise again!
