Dear fellow toastmasters,

A. Nine months passed...Three more to go!

Believe it or not, nine months of our term has passed. Have we made a breakthrough, a significant breakthrough for ourselves, for our Clubs, Areas and Divisions?

What was our personal goals committed as we start the term? How are we progressing in our CTM and ATM manual speeches? Make plans for the next 3 months, complete the final speeches and earn your CTMs/ATMs - make it a personal breakthrough for yourselves.

As Club officers, we started our term with a goal in mind - to build a stronger Club. Have we make a breakthrough with increase in club attendance and membership? How have we helped our members progressed in their educational goals? Have our Clubs achieved at least 5 DCP goals to be Distinguished? Take time to plan...do not let our final three months passed without a significant breakthrough for our Clubs. Take up the challenge to make full use of the remaining three months :
- mentor a member achieve their CTM/ATM
- bring back an in-active member who have left your Club to renew his/her membership
- submit your Club semi-annual dues by 30 April 2001
- promote membership - encourage each member to bring a guest

"Anyone can stand tall on the high peaks. It is the people who survive the valleys between the peaks who will emerge the strongest. These survivors will be our leaders -- the ones who are mentally tough and have the perseverance to keep going." -- Preston Pearson

Persevere on...and make a significant breakthrough!

B. Breakthrough in Brunei & Macau

At the Toastmasters International Board meeting on 16 February 2001, the Board of Directors approved the Boundary change to District 51 and recommended that, effective July 1, 2001, the Sultanate of Brunei and the special administrative region of China, Macau, be assigned to District 51.

On July 1, 2001, The Brunei Speakers Club No. 6376 will be part of District 51.

Let us warmly give an early welcome The Brunei Speakers Club to our District!

The boundary change will open up new opportunities for District 51 to help make breakthroughs in Brunei and Macau.
