Dear Fellow Toastmasters

Last weeken had been a really FUNTASTIC and FRUITFUL, Convention in Kota Kinabalu. We wish all of you were here to "Experience the breakthrough" with us.

Here are some of the highlights of the convention

The Div K 6th Annual Convention started on 24th March with

1. The Division K Council meeting from 10.00am- 12.00noon.
The meeting were graced by our Lieutenant Governor Education & Training , Lilian Lau, DTM and our Lieutenant Governor Marketing Dr John Lau,DTM plus our District Secretary Jospehine Lee, ATM-B

2. 5 x Educational workshops were conducted from 2.00pm to 5.00pm.
"Discover your hidden potential through Toastmasters" by Lilian Lau,DTM
"Corporate Dressing & Etiquette" by TM Doris Lim
"Voice Therapy to enhance your speech" by Rowland Henry Gomes
"Who ate my NASI Lemark?" by Dr John Lau, DTM
"Up the Leadership Tarck" using the mind mapping Technique by Raveendran Subramaniam,ATM-G,CL

3. The fellowship night with the Theme " It is a Star Search nite"
LOT and LOT of FUN filled programmes and fellowship throughout the night. All participants and guests were given opportunity to take part. There were really lot & lot of hidden talents uncovered from the Star search programme. It ended around 11.30pm with many participants still wanted more....................

4. The International speech & Table Topics Contests were keenly contested on the 25th March and the Contest Chairman was none other than our Charter President Raveedran Subramaniam,ATM-G,CL

The winners are as follows:

International Speech Contest

Champion : Leong Shar Cheong, ( KK Mandarin Club )

1st Runner up : T C Lim, ( KK Advanced Club)

2nd Ruuner up: Nancy Tham ( IBBM Sabah TMC)

Table Topics Contest

Champion : Richard A Gontusan ( KKTMC )

1st Runner up : Wong Chee Kuan ( Sandakan TMC )

2nd Ruuner up: Ng Hon Fui ( KK Mandarin TMC)

Congratulation to all the winners and contestants. The Champions will represent Div K to compete at the District Level in Hong Kong in May 20, 2001

The total number of participants were around 140 which came from all over Sabah, Labuan, Brunei, and guests from KL, Kuching and Singapore.

We were honoured to have our Lieutenant Governor Education & Training , Lilian Lau, DTM to be our Guest of Honour and trainer. and our Lieutenant Governor Marketing Dr John Lau,DTM as our Trainer and also our District Secretary Jospehine Lee,ATM-B with us.
