Review Your Club's Progress

Dear Club Presidents and Club Officers

We have only 115 days to achieve our Distinguished Club, Area, Division and District goals. Together, let us focus and work towards our goals.

Area Governors in Districts worldwide received a memorandum from World Headquarters in January 2001, copied to DGs, Lt Governors and Division Governors, stressing on "Encourage each Club to become a Distinguished Club" that is, to promote the DCP/Club Success Plan.

District 51 has about 7,300 members. For this current term only 265 Toastmasters have achieved the CTM award and 100 Toastmasters attained the ATM award. Some 104 others have completed the Leadership track, that is, the CL/AL/DTM awards.

Club Presidents and Vice-Presidents Education, please check and monitor your members' progress. Are they presenting their speeches regularly? What is their progress? Are members fulfilling their needs?

Members who have completed their ATM or DTM goals should be encouraged to continue presenting their manual speeches. Many overseas Toastmasters in other Districts do a second CTM or third CTM to enhance their public speaking skills. New members can learn from the experienced members doing their CTM again.

As Club Officers, work with your club members, encourage, motivate and help every member to complete their C&L manual, to achieve the CTM award, so that they become more confident and effective speakers.

Encourage members who achieve their CTM awards to pursue the ATM award. This is a powerful membership retention tool.

Review the Club Success Plan on names of Toastmasters identified to achieve the CTM/ ATM goals. Follow up on those Toastmasters. Your service as a Club Officer is to support and help members and your club succeed. You have 12 months to reap the benefits of Club Leadership. Maximise your leadership opportunities to the fullest in the next 115 days. Make it your best year!

Encourage "Every Member A CTM" and make your Club "A Distinguished Club".

All the best towards Distinguished Club status!

Best Regards
Lilian Lau DTM
